Arc Limited is one of North America’s leading manufacturers of Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) architectural castings.

Lightweight, durable and providing tremendous design flexibility, GFRC is often used in commercial construction for non-structural architectural components such as wall panels, window spandrels, façades, column covers, window headers, fountains, balustrades, cornices and artistic masonry forms and shapes. Replication of natural stone in a variety of color and textures is possible when GFRC is specified. GFRC technology is also widely recognized as a superior alternative to imported terra cotta stone for use in historical replication where reproducing elements and achieving an aged appearance is required.

Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete

Glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) is a proven engineered composite building material consisting of Portland cement, aggregate, water, glass fiber reinforcement and additives. The glass fibers reinforce the concrete, much as steel reinforcing bars do in conventional construction. The glass fiber reinforcement results in a product with much higher flexural strength than normal concrete, allowing its use in thin-wall casting applications.

LEED

ARC works closely with architects and designers to develop solutions for LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) construction projects. Increasingly, new construction is focused on sustainable design using materials that promote recycled material, reduce transportation costs, offer energy advantages and reduce overall waste.

Color Selection

GFRC can be produced in a vast array of colors or textures. A range of finished textures is also possible by post production sandblasting and other finishing techniques. The addition of fine surface aggregates, in certain applications, can also provide an interesting, aesthetically pleasing final appearance.
